The reporting location for this position is 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814. This position will work under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I.
As an analyst in the Performance Management Unit (PMU), this position is responsible for providing consultative services to managers and supervisors throughout the Department of Parks and Recreation regarding the appropriate and timely application of the progressive discipline process.
The PMU Analyst provides guidance and information regarding all aspects of employee concerns related to performance and conduct in the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance regarding best practices in avoiding and resolving employee concerns, issuance of counseling memoranda, probation reports, and annual performance appraisals, as well as formal actions such as adverse action, rejections during probation, Absent without Leave (AWOL) separations, and other employment actions. Additionally, the PMU analyst will work with other staff to develop, update, and maintain training content.
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate, preferably who possesses knowledge or experience in the application of the California State progressive discipline process, with the ability to research applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents pertaining to civil service employment, conduct, and discipline.
Some state-wide overnight travel may be required to present PMU training material.Training and development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered . A minimum of two days working in-office per week is required.
