Our team builds/maintains the Akamai API Security infrastructure, focusing on SLO-driven reliability ensuring secure/dependable services for our customers.

As a Senior SRE - API Security, you'll manage various cloud providers, hosting one of the world's best API security products.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Using configuration management tools to deploy cloud infrastructure and software updates securely and safely.
  • Developing tools and scripts with shell/Python/YAML/HCL languages to automate the creation of API Security infrastructure
  • Creating monitoring solutions based on Coralogix and Grafana dashboards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving platform faults and escalations
  • Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues
  • Handling different configuration management tools such as Terraform/Ansible/Saltstack

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Have experience with programming in Linux environments, such as Python and shell scripting.
  • Have experience and knowledge with networking technologies such as routing and firewalls.
  • Have experience with monitoring tools such as Coralogix and Grafana
  • Have experience with containers and orchestration systems like Kubernetes

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $126,100 - $261,900/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
