10767 – Telecom Engineer II
Location - Fountain Valley, CA;  Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week 

General Summary:

Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA) is seeking a Telecom Engineer II  to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. This position is responsible for engineering, supporting, and optimizing our enterprise telecom environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications , Cisco UCCX , and other telecom technologies that support voice, contact center, and collaboration platforms. This individual will work closely with infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable communications solutions across the organization.

Essential Functions:

 
  • Design, configure, and manage Cisco Unified Communications systems including CUCM, Unity Connection, UCCX, and IM&P.
  • Engineer and maintain Cisco UCCX call scripts, routing flows , and advanced IVR features to align with business needs.
  • Lead the integration of SIP trunking , voice gateways, CUBE, and PSTN services.
  • Support VoIP infrastructure , troubleshoot telecom-related issues, and serve as Tier 3 escalation for voice incidents.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure optimal performance, capacity planning, and compliance with security standards.
  • Perform software upgrades, patching, and configuration changes across voice systems.
  • Document system architecture, configurations, processes, and technical troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support staff in daily operations and project work.
  • Support enterprise-wide projects involving unified communications and contact center transformation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance activities as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5years of experience in telecom engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, Unity, UCCX).
  • Advanced knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, MGCP, H.323) and QoS for voice/video traffic.
  • Experience with Cisco Expressway , gateways , and enterprise-level call routing strategies.
  • Strong scripting and configuration knowledge within Cisco UCCX (Finesse, CRS scripting).
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and their impact on telecom solutions.
  • Familiarity with E911 , call recording solutions , and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing (preferred).
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex voice-related issues under pressure.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CCNP Collaboration , Cisco Collaboration Specialist, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Cisco CallManager, Contact Center or other cloud-based voice platforms.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and experience in enterprise change management.
Salary Range - $91,810 - $131,285
