Academic Advisor

 

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Academic Advisor position in the School of Science Health and Criminal Justice, beginning February 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will possess good communication and organizational skills and function well as a member of a team.

 

Salary: $46,239 - $50,000

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience in student services.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.
• General experience with academic advising.

Duties:

• Provide support to students with respect to academic planning, program, and course selection.
• Assist students in academic planning related to the students’ abilities and interests.
• Convey and interpret SUNY Canton’s academic rules and regulations, academic prerequisites, programs, majors and course of study.
• May work directly with faculty in various departments to enhance the advisement process.
• May refer students to related offices (counseling, career planning, etc.) as appropriate.
