Import / Export International Operations Specialist

Pay: $29hr
We are seeking an experienced Import/Export International Operations Specialist to join our Torrance, California office. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end international freight operations, with a strong emphasis on import processes and growing exposure to air and ocean export activities.

Manage all stages of international import operations from booking through final delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Handle air and ocean export operations , including documentation, coordination with overseas agents, and shipment execution.
Prepare and manage rate quotes for customers and international partners for both air and ocean freight.
Coordinate and oversee consolidated cargo shipments .
Communicate regularly with overseas agents, carriers, trucking companies, and vendors .
Ensure adherence to customs regulations , shipping laws, and internal compliance standards.
Resolve shipment issues proactively to minimize delays or disruptions.
Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation within CargoWise .
Support customer relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and problem resolution.
Minimum 2 years of experience with a freight forwarding company handling air and ocean import operations from start to finish (required).
Minimum 2 years of experience handling air and ocean export operations from initiation to completion.
Experience with CargoWise operating system.
Strong understanding of customs procedures, shipping regulations, and documentation requirements .
Experience working with consolidated cargo and cross-border shipments .
Proven ability to negotiate rates with carriers, trucking companies, and service providers.
High level of comfort with transportation and logistics technology systems.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment .
