We are currently seeking an experienced Air Quality Project Manager to lead and manage air permitting and compliance projects across a variety of sectors, including power, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and transportation . This position offers a diverse portfolio of projects, opportunities for technical and leadership growth, and a chance to advance within a dynamic and expanding Air & Noise practice.
As a key member of our Environmental Services Global Practice , you’ll work directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal air quality regulations.
Lead the preparation and submittal of air permit application packages , including Title V and state-level permits.
Conduct site assessments and environmental inspections to verify compliance with applicable air quality standards.
Estimate emissions, including routine, startup, shutdown, maintenance, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Serve as the project lead, managing schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications .
Assist in the preparation of multi-media environmental compliance documents, including:
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) filings
Ensure adherence to company and site-specific safety protocols .
Support internal teams with technical expertise, mentoring, and regulatory guidance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering , or a related field from an accredited program.
Minimum 7 years of relevant air quality experience (10+ years preferred ).
A Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
Demonstrated experience in environmental consulting , particularly air permitting and compliance.
In-depth knowledge of Clean Air Act regulations , including:
New Source Review (NSR) / Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD)
National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs)
New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
Title V and Title VI permitting
Familiarity with air dispersion modeling tools (e.g., AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, VISCREEN, PLUVUE, SLAB) is a plus.
A background in sustainability or ESG reporting is a bonus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver’s license required.
