Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• Accountable to assist the RN and surgeon in preparing for surgical procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and prepare for the next case
• Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
• Understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon
• Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field

Job Requirements

• Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Job Requirements

• Previous work experience as a surgical tech
• Previous ORT/CST experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
