**Job Description:**
Clinical Engineering (CE) Tech I is an entry-level position responsible for the maintenance and service of assigned medical equipment. Performs various tasks associated with installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a limited scope of clinical equipment under the guidance and/or direct supervision of an experienced peer or supervisor.

****This is a field service position specializing in sterile processing repair and maintenance with expectations to support other locations across the organization. Travel will be required****
**_Normal Business Hours. Must be flexible. May require some swing shifts, or weekend coverage depending on workload._**
**_This is a field position. Will be assigned 3-4 hospitals to work in. On Call rotations every 5-6 weeks._**
**_**Prior experience in central processing and surgical sterilization highly preferred**_**
**_**Will require a MVR with a DOT physical to drive heavy vehicles over 10,000 lbs and less than 26,000 lbs**_**
**Essential Functions**
+ Basic understanding of medical equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
+ Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform equipment repairs.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance procedures on low/medium risk medical equipment.
+ Possess the skill to utilize tools and test equipment required for job duties and responsibilities
+ Adherence to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI).
+ Competent in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation.
+ Basic understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management.

**Qualifications**
+ Two years of experience in clinical engineering or an equivalent field is preferred.
+ Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred. Education will be verified.

+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
+ May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs.
+ For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$25.02 - $39.41
