The role you'll contribute:
The clinical research infusion nurse promotes research activity at the clinical level at AdventHeath Cancer Center by implementing ongoing assessments, providing nursing care and protocol-related treatment, patient monitoring, and education. In addition, this nurse will be responsible for documenting protocol compliance for patients/subjects enrolled in clinical trials. The clinical research infusion nurse must have a working knowledge of protocols as set forth by pertinent regulatory agencies and specific protocol requirements for research patients enrolled in clinical trials at AdventHealth. This is displayed by providing direct patient care executing ongoing assessments, implement patient education and documentation to comply with standards and regulatory guidelines.
The value you'll bring to the team: - Reviews all elements of the current institutional IRB approved informed consent (IC) document, according to current FDA, state, federal and institutional regulations with study candidates and/or legal representative: ensure, through patient advocacy and informed consent as an ongoing process, that the rights, safety and well-being of trial subjects are the most important considerations and should prevail over the interests of science and society.
- Supplies competence in delivering care and services to adult patients of a variety of ages and abilities that comply with the service standards set forth by AdventHealth
- Executes nursing assessments while triaging essential needs of patient care as they relate to requirements of the research protocol as well as AdventHealth standards. This includes ability to offer direct and appropriate nursing and supportive care that is specific to the needs of the patient
- Involved in planning for expeditious and future interventions, which may involve referrals as well as multidisciplinary collaboration that are specific to requirements of research protocol. This includes assessment based on age, as well as the patients physical, psychosocial, educational and safety necessities
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed : - Graduate of a school of nursing Required
- 1+ professional nursing experience Required
- Oncology experience Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current valid State of Florida
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- ACLS Required
