Cloud Solution Infrastructure Architect
Position Overview
The Cloud Solution Infrastructure Application Architect role is a hands-on position responsible for architecture globally across the enterprise. Primarily focuses on cloudapplication solutions with a secondary of on-premisesinfrastructure application architecture. Will lead the cloud platform strategy, architectures, designs for projects, cloud migration/solution project leadership, and improved support of the IT systems.Design and review cloud solutions to bridge the gap between application teams and the infrastructure team. Leads the design of new infrastructure and cloud technology initiatives with an AppDev and DevOps focus. Partners with many teams across the technology and business areas. Designs and implements cloud solutions and application architectures, defining standardized technology portfolios, and leading infrastructure project initiatives. Lead vendor driven cloud solutions to ensure that solutions are well designed, secure, performant, cost effective, able to meet evolving business needs and comply with established enterprise guidelines. Leads technology solutions implementations by coordinating and providing mentorship to the Technology Leaders, Architects, Engineers, and DevOps. The role will have the opportunity to lead initiatives and architecture related projects and provide cost effective and scalable solutions, with a strong FinOps and Cloud Modernization focus.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the successful cloud/infrastructure design, build, implementation of solutions including the delivery of new and improvements to existing solutions.
- Define and detail the design/redesign and system architecture of the end-to-end cloud/infrastructure solution to support applications. (Cloud, Server, Storage, Network, Integration, Workstation, Application)
- Reverse engineer and document architectural designs for enterprise portfolio (multi-cloud and on-premises) of systems. Participate in the leadership and delivery of architecture related projects.
- Design PaaS and IaaS solutions for Enterprise Apps in a public cloud platform such as Azure, GCP, etc.
- Guide internal teams and vendors for selecting the appropriate cloud architecture and cloud services across the global portfolio.
- Define Cloud Services Strategy for Cloud Migration projects by providing cost effective and resilience solutions for applications & projects.
- Design cloud technology portfolio standards for enterprise applications inclusive of cloud services features and capabilities.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, and business teams to assess current application and technology architectures, recommending and implementing cloud modernization strategies for significant improvements. Cloud architecture authority for all existing applications/technologies including their current design and data flow with a focus oncloud services &infrastructure.
- Evaluate the requirement of cloud services from various projects and provide the suggestion considering security, performant, cost effectiveness, and scalability.
- Educate and influence stakeholders and engineering teams on effective cloud solutions and Cloud best practices for Applications.
- Perform overall capacity planning and forecasting for IT Infrastructure and identifying and implement optimization strategies. (Cloud, Server, Storage, Network, Integration, Workstation, Application)
- Expertise and proven experience in FinOps principles and practices, with a focus on capacity planning, budget management, and cost optimization across a multi-cloud environment.
- Build technology Roadmaps for cloud services and setup cloud blueprint for organization, Lead the implementation of Tiffanys infrastructure and multi-cloud platforms delivery model and architecture.
- Define and design development and operational methodologies for in-house and vendor driven projects (i.e. DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, etc.)
- Lead, participate in, and run the portfolio of cloud and on-premises solutions while heading up and participating in various technology groups and committees such as the Architecture Review Board, Infrastructure Review Board, and Environment Steering Committee.
- Evaluate fit by application for cloud, be responsible for implementation activities to transition and operate in the public cloud and perform SaaS evaluations.
- Continuously learn about newtechnology cloud solution offerings and recommend adoptions into the enterprise for virtual private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud to facilitate enterprise initiatives for applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years hands on experience with Cloud Platforms preferably in Azure, GCP, & Alibaba
- 10+ years of experience in hands on architect role designing, developing and implementing distributed systems.(Application, Integration)
- 5+ years of experience in architecture leadership role
- 10+ years of experience in application design and implementation.
- Experience in providing FinOps cost effectiveness.
- Demonstrated experience in Cloud Modernization, specifically modernizing IaaS systems and designing resilient and scalable cloud solutions for applications, leveraging PaaS offerings. Experience in architecting, provisioning, and managing infrastructure, public/private/hybrid cloud, applications, and integrations across diverse platforms
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies like AKS, Azure DevOps, Pipelines, automation Application Insight, Event Hub, Key vault, Functions, Azure load balancer, Azure application gateway, virtual servers, VPC, Azure App Service, Azure Server, Azure Storage, and subscriptions
- Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies and processes related to cloud and platform solutions
- In-depth technical skills for Cloud services suggestions and implementations.
- Guide project teams on cloud enablement benefits, bridge the gap between infrastructure and application teams, and design efficient cloud services roadmap.
- Experience building security reference architecture for full cloud deployments and hybrid scenarios.
- Strong Knowledge of Datacenter architectures and best practices, high-availability, capacity planning, system performance, and diagnostic techniques and methodologies.
- Strong communication skills to articulate strategic recommendations to Executive Management, Architects, and Development Partners
- Knowledge in Cloud Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Knowledge of Middleware Technologies (Enterprise Service Bus, Informatica Cloud, API tooling, containers, microservices architecture, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure, GCP, or other IT industry Certifications
- Cloud PaaS and IaaS platforms (Azure Global, Azure China, GCP, Alibaba)
- Knowledge in Linux, Windows, DB, VMWare, HCI, Network, Active Directory including Federation Services
- Familiarity with Information Security and Compliance requirements such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and global Data Privacy Laws
- Experience with Scripting Languages (Terraforms)
- Masters Degree in area of technology
The hiring range for this position ranges from $158,000- $214,000. The salary offered will be dependent uponcandidates relevant skills and experience.
