What you’ll be doing...

The Consultant, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) - Third Party Risk Management, is responsible for continually monitoring, evaluating, and managing risk associated with third party vendors, partners, and customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating third parties across a range of risk vectors including reputational, anti-bribery & anti-corruption (ABAC) and sanctions risks. You will leverage technology solutions to support due diligence initiatives, continuous monitoring efforts and ensure efficient and effective mitigation of any identified risks.

This role will work to ensure that Verizon is well positioned to make informed data and risk based decisions when it comes to the selection of a vendor or strategic partner. Additionally, you will help design and enforce internal policies, procedures, and attestations to meet regulatory requirements.

As a subject matter expert, you will take a key role in assessing third-party risk impacts on the company, identifying opportunities to enhance Verizon’s overall controls environment, and managing risk as necessary. You will develop business rules and automated workflows, drive process improvements, and work with business stakeholders to triage identified risks.

  • Managing business intelligence rules and automated workflows to continuously monitor the risks associated with third parties.

  • Leveraging technology solutions such as LexisNexis to review and triage risk alerts associated with reputational, ABAC, and sanctions risk.

  • Developing dashboard reporting and scorecards related to key risk indicators (KRIs) associated with third parties.

  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders in reviewing risk alerts.

  • Partnering with risk experts to ensure that all third party risk management tools generate actionable insights.

  • Supporting complete, accurate, and timely vendor risk analysis through data analytics.

  • Creating or developing new policies and/or processes to address the evolving regulatory landscape.

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining risk and control matrices and procedure documentation.

  • Working with key stakeholders throughout the enterprise to design, document, and implement  business processes.

  • Liaising with partners in business units and other corporate functions to provide insights into control issues and risk reduction strategies.

You are comfortable developing new processes and programs to meet regulatory objectives and reduce risk. You understand that a rigorous control environment can help an organization meet its objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable external reporting and compliance with laws, regulations and policies.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Information Security

  • Four or more years’ of relevant work experience in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Risk Management, or Operational Assurance

  • Experience in operational compliance, business controls or finance

  • Experience in developing and executing audit/test procedures

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills

Even better if you have:

  • A professional certification (CPA, CISA, CMA, CIA, CIPP, CISSP)

  • Experience with LexisNexis, Dow Jones, FinScan, Comply Advantage, or other sanctions screening solutions

  • Knowledge of control risk and controls frameworks (i.e. NIST, COSO, ISO, etc.)

  • Experience formulating, affecting, interpreting and implementing policies and processes

  • Demonstrated organizational and reporting skills

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
