complex architectural detailing , building enclosure system design, and

What You’ll Do The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Apply a fundamental developed technical understanding of building enclosure systems to all work produced.
- Perform production of architectural, structural, and building enclosure drawings and related deliverables expediently and accurately.
- Support project leads to creatively assess and investigate the causation of air and water infiltration on all types of building enclosure systems.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to in-house Consultants.
- Deliver technically written documents, including Technical Memorandum, Reports, Supplemental Instruction, and Specifications.
- Manage elements of design activities, including, but not limited to, field verification and research.
- Contribute to memorandum content communicating the scope and risk, while coordinating other technical employees providing CAD.
- Perform construction administration activities under the supervision of the project lead.
- Perform Quality Assurance Construction Observations and report findings.
- Ensure internal and external client satisfaction and project success by providing accurate, detailed construction documents promptly.
- Conduct applicable industry research related to product selection for incorporation into design documents.
- Contribute to a resource directory for critical enclosure components.
- Follow planning-related content for proposals concerning target hours necessary for drafting, and field verification hours.
- Follow established organization of documents, drawings, layouts, and files.
- Create documents using identified standards , ensuring continuity in work product.
- Conduct product research and comparison as needed.
- Assist in related field work including , but not limited to, field verifications, site observations/inspections, consultation, and field testing (ASTM, BECX, and ELD).
- Travel up to 25% local and infrequent national travel, as required. May vary depending on project-specific tasks.
What You’ll Bring - High School Diploma or e quivalent . A 2-year Technical Degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous job site experience with building science trades.
- 1-2 years of architectural building enclosure design experience.
- AutoCAD Expertise
- Revit e xpertise is preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards for designing enclosure components.
- Baseline experience on a construction site as an observer for the periodic duration of projects.
- Bluebeam or alternative PDF editing software experience preferred.
- Maintains professional tact while still being flexible. An understanding individual who can adapt to a changing, fast-paced office environment working with various people.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to prioritize and manage drawing production.
- Critical thinking - takes the initiative - self-motivated.
- Fundamental technical grammar, business writing, and presentation preparation skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- The ability to understand typical system detailing and extrapolate the system through specific details.
- The ability to be resourceful and learn new practices independently.

Optimism Working Environment This role involves both physical and mental demands and may be performed in various settings, including offices, construction sites, and confined spaces like elevator pits. Tasks often require frequent movement in multiple directions. Lerch Bates will provide reasonable accommodations upon request through Human Resources.
Physical Demands This role requires regular sitting, talking, and hearing in meetings and by phone. Employees must navigate tight spaces, climb ladders, move around construction sites, take measurements, and travel by car, air, or rail. Duties may involve working at heights and in confined spaces, using hands for tasks like typing and operating elevator components, and applying up to 30 lbs. of force. Close visual attention is also required.
Mental Demands This position requires strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Employees must interpret complex information, apply mathematical and logical reasoning, quickly learn new skills, and manage detailed, multitask workloads under shifting deadlines. Regular interaction with executives, colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders is also expected.
