Position Summary:
The Class B Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting propane products to local residential and commercial customers via scheduled routes or as needed. This role includes loading and unloading trucks, maintaining accurate delivery records, and providing professional customer service. The driver is also responsible for conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe and compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load and unload propane into bulk tanks for both residential and commercial clients
Operate propane delivery trucks in accordance with DOT and company safety regulations
Communicate effectively with customers regarding pricing, orders, and delivery timelines
Accurately complete and reconcile load manifests and other required delivery documentation
Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each shift; report and document any mechanical issues
Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance and ensure vehicle is presentable at all times
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and required endorsements
Qualifications:
Valid Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
Clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Record)
Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience or recent completion of a CDL training program
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to interpret and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Familiarity with the local delivery area and ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Capable of driving up to 8 hours while handling hazardous materials
Able to work independently under time constraints
Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals
Basic computer skills required
Must meet all DOT physical and regulatory requirements
Ability to work in a drug-free environment
Previous retail or local delivery experience preferred
