The Sign Installer is responsible for installing all types of signs and sign components at client project sites. This includes electrical, structural, and other sign components per supplied prints and professional installation standards.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall all signs and sign components at client sites according to prints and standards.
Train and supervise apprentices or other workers when acting as lead.
Report on truck and equipment safety/maintenance to the operations manager.
Safely use ladders, lifts, rigging, and tools.
Properly load, transport, and rig materials and signs.
Review paperwork (prints, permits, materials, safety plans, engineering, work orders) and coordinate with contractors or business owners.
Ensure all sign components and site conditions are in order to complete the project.
Oversee and communicate on-site job safety plan.
Professionally communicate with operations team, contractors, clients, landlords, and tenants.
Protect site and equipment from damage.
Document work with photographs of completed and lit signs.
Clean, organize, and secure truck, tools, and materials daily.
Clean signs, components, and jobsite before departure.
Touch up, test, and confirm full sign operation before leaving.
Maintain a clean, organized truck; perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly equipment checks.
Follow all safety rules; wear PPE at all times.
Maintain and organize truck inventory daily.
Track all materials used and submit project notes and photos upon completion.
Train and supervise apprentices or other workers on-site.
Minimum 2 years of sign installation experience required.
Journeyman Sign Electrical Card (required).
Crane Operator License (preferred).
CDL License (preferred).
First Aid Card (required).
Ability to use handheld digital devices.
Comfortable working at heights up to 100 feet.
Regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
Stand for long periods; climb stairs/ladders; wear PPE as required.
Work may occur in production areas with loud noise, dust, or debris.
Exposure to temperature changes depending on season/building.
Work may take place in outdoor conditions at client sites
