Scope of Project

The Epic Orders Analyst will support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of orders management workflows-such as provider order entry, nursing orders, order sets, and integrated ancillary services-across 13 state-operated healthcare facilities.
The analyst will collaborate with clinical providers, nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary departments (lab, radiology, dietary, therapy) to validate and ensure accurate and efficient Epic Orders functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Epic Orders application build and configuration (CPOE, order sets, preference lists, protocols, decision support).

• Analyze workflow requirements and translate them into Epic system configurations.

• Participate in system testing, integrated testing, and change management efforts.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated through ServiceNow, including escalation as needed.

• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, NC state policies).

• Collaborate with Epic module teams (Clin Doc, Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology, HIM, Security, etc.) to ensure interoperability and workflow integration.

• Participate in on-call rotation for orders-related support.

Required/Preferred Skills:

• Epic Orders certification required - candidates must provide Epic certification number and date.

• Epic implementation or operational support experience - Required | 7+ Years

• Strong understanding of clinical documentation workflows - Required | 7+ Years

• Ability to evaluate workflow needs and translate into Epic configuration - Required | 7+ Years

• Epic ClinDoc or related Epic certifications - Highly Desired | 5+ Years

• Previous experience as an Epic Orders Analyst or Builder in healthcare - Required | 7+ Years
