Position Title: Executive Sous Chef  

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Job Summary

The Delta One Lounge at JFK redefines luxury travel dining as a culinary destination, featuring a full service restaurant, curated market with grab and go selections, an iconic cocktail bar, and more. As Executive Sous Chef, you will serve as a key partner to the Executive Chef, helping lead a large, high performing culinary team while delivering refined, globally inspired cuisine to Delta’s most discerning travelers. This role blends hands on leadership, menu collaboration, and operational excellence in a dynamic, high end environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Executive Chef to oversee culinary operations across the restaurant, market, and bar programs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop sous chefs and culinary associates to ensure consistency, quality, and execution across all offerings
  • Support menu development, innovation, and seasonal updates aligned with Restaurant Associates and Delta One culinary standards
  • Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and portion control in a high volume, premium environment
  • Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards across multiple kitchens and service outlets
  • Manage labor, food costs, purchasing, and inventory to support operational goals and financial performance
  • Collaborate closely with front of house and beverage teams to deliver a seamless guest experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or formal training preferred; equivalent professional experience welcomed
  • 4 or more years of progressive culinary leadership experience in fine dining, luxury hotel, or comparable premium hospitality environments
  • Proven ability to lead large culinary teams across multiple concepts or service styles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with a high attention to detail
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
