Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance initiatives at our egg processing facility. This position leads the Quality team, ensures adherence to USDA, FDA, HACCP, and customer requirements, and drives continuous improvement across production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety programs, including HACCP plans, biosecurity measures, and environmental monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and applicable customer requirements.

  • Manage regulatory interactions with USDA-FSIS personnel, including weekly meetings and resolution of inspection findings.

  • Lead the Quality Control team in performing inspections, testing, process controls, and improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee daily quality and food safety operations for egg production, washing, grading, breaking, and packaging.

  • Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and sanitation teams to ensure product quality and consistency.

  • Investigate product deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformances; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

  • Serve as the primary contact for third-party audits, USDA/FSIS inspections, and customer quality visits.

  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and develop targeted improvement strategies.

  • Design and deliver training programs for plant employees on food safety, egg handling best practices, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety within a food manufacturing environment, preferably egg or poultry processing.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a QA setting.

  • Strong knowledge of USDA food regulations and third-party audit programs.

  • HACCP and SQF certifications preferred.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
