Position Overview
We are seeking a Hazardous Material Driver/Transporter to join our team! This position is responsible for transporting explosive materials and heavy equipment to various locations throughout the Pacific Northwest, ensuring full compliance with safety regulations and company policies. In addition to transport responsibilities, this role may occasionally assist with blasting activities on-site, offering a dynamic, hands-on experience in the field.

Compensation
  • Wage Range: $25-$31/hour, depending on experience.

Schedule
  • Work Location: Dispatched from Springfield, OR to deliver product and equipment to field locations.
  • Standard Shift:  Schedules will vary based on hazardous material and equipment delivery demands.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL): Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat/Tank endorsement (or the ability to obtain).
  • Background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restriction.
  • Drug Test / Physical: Pre-employment DOT drug test and physical.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with hazardous materials.

Job Responsibilities
  • Hazardous Material Transport: Drives/operates a range of delivery vehicles to move or deliver explosive products to the appropriate site safely and timely.
  • Heavy Equipment Transport: Safely operates lowboy tractors and trailers to transport heavy machinery, oversized loads, and a variety of construction equipment.
  • Loading and Unloading: Loads and unloads all trucks, ensuring secure and safe placement of equipment and materials, and maintain accurate inventory of all transport hazardous material products.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conducts thorough inspections of the truck and trailer before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
  • Route Planning: Plans and follows efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while considering road restrictions, weather conditions, and load limits.
  • Documentation: Completes and maintains accurate logs, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
  • Performs any and all duties to support our Transfer and Operations team.
