The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Mississippi invites applications for the position of Instructional Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Undergraduate Program Coordinator. This is a regular, full-time position beginning in August 2025. We are seeking an anthropologist who can teach Introduction to Anthropology and other undergraduate courses in our course catalogue. Candidates should have demonstrated experience advising, mentoring, and teaching undergraduate students. The successful candidate will also serve as the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the BA program in Anthropology. Undergraduate Program Coordinator responsibilities include undergraduate recruitment, retention, advising, programming of events, coordinating and updating the curriculum, managing social media accounts, and growing the major and minor in Anthropology. This position has a 4/4 teaching load. The successful candidate is eligible for a 1 course per year teaching reduction or a $5,000 stipend to compensate for additional duties associated with serving as Undergraduate Coordinator. The job is open to any field of Anthropology. The preferred candidate will be able to teach online and in-person courses that strengthen our four-field program in Anthropology.

A Ph.D. (or advanced ABD) in Anthropology or related field is required at the time of application.
