Job Description

What we're building

Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: Boats are special — but they’re loud, pollutant, unreliable, and stuck in the past. Gas-powered boats dominate not because they’re great, but because no better option has existed. Until now.

Arc is here to change that. We’re building 100% electric boats from the ground up — quicker, quieter, easier to maintain, and better for the water they ride on. We’re not just swapping gas for batteries. We’re rethinking every detail on the boat — from propulsion and powertrain to software and ownership model — applying first-principles engineering from aerospace and EVs to deliver a better boating experience.

Electric boats haven’t taken over yet. The tech hasn’t been ready. The talent hasn’t been focused here. That’s our opportunity — and we’re moving fast.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who’s fired up by our mission and ready to build. You’ll thrive here if you adapt quickly, take ownership, and care about the details.

You will join our Marketing team as a summer intern from June 15th-August 21st 2025. You will work from our headquarters in Torrance, CA. Given that we’re a startup, you will be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability. That said, here are some responsibilities and qualifications we expect to stay relatively constant for this role

Core responsibilities

  • Driving and executing marketing initiatives aligned with your interests and Arc’s business priorities—such as merchandise projects, content shoots, market research, and more.
  • Supporting key marketing initiatives, working cross-functionally with the team on campaigns, content creation, and growth.
  • Analyzing marketing performance, gathering insights from campaigns and consumer behavior to optimize our efforts.
  • Conducting market research to help the team stay on top of industry trends, competitor activity, and customer insights.
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh ideas for how to build Arc’s brand and reach new audiences.

Basic qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or graduate program, preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for marketing, storytelling, and brand building.
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms, content marketing, and digital marketing.

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience with marketing platforms like HubSpot.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot Analytics).
  • Previous internship or work experience in marketing.
  • Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.

At Arc, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status. You’re always welcome to reach out even if you don’t meet many of these qualifications. Passion and aptitude make up for a lot.

Our values

We value these five things above all else:

  • Ownership over both your work and the company’s success
  • Empathy for colleagues and customers
  • Humility in problem solving and collaboration
  • Pragmatism for navigating ambiguity quickly and sensibly
  • Inclusion of different backgrounds, opinions, and cultures

Given that we work in a sometimes intense or stressful environment, it’s vital that our values align. We’d be happy to elaborate on any or all of these during the interview process.

What we offer

  • Talented teammates who challenge you to be better
  • Access and often input into a wide range of business activities
  • An hourly wage of $30.00
  • An opportunity to have an outsized impact on industry-defining vehicles
  • The ability to drive positive environmental change through your work
  • Daily lunches, plenty of snacks, lots of swag—and more
  • Boat rides!

Hope to hear from you soon!
- The crew at Arc
