Senior Network Engineer (DMVPN / Data Center Migration) | 465512: DETAILS Location: 100% Remote
Position Type: 12M+ Contract (w/ possibility of conversion to fulltime)
Hourly / Salary: $75W2 $110W2+ (based on skill level / detailed below)
JOB SUMMARY Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer (DMVPN / Data Center Migration) for a 12M+ Contract opportunity (w/ possibility of conversion to fulltime) that is 100% remote. The Senior Network Engineer will join a large, client-facing data center migration initiative focused on transitioning from Cisco to Arista infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will plan, schedule, and execute the migration of DMVPN overlays for dozens of locations, ensuring routing and firewall changes are accurately implemented as connections are transitioned to a new colocation facility.
- Network Migration Execution Plan / Execute DMVPN Overlay Migrations from Existing Cisco Environments to Arista-Based Infrastructure
- Site Migration Coordination Coordinate Migration Activities Across Dozens of Sites | Ensure Alignment with the Broader Data Center Migration Timeline
- Routing Configuration Implement Downstream Routing Configuration Changes Required for Site Cutovers
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate With Architecture / Operations / Security Teams to Validate Designs / Execute Migrations / Ensure Smooth Transitions
- Issue Troubleshooting Troubleshoot Complex Network Issues During Migration Windows / Minimize Disruption
- Documentation / Tracking Maintain Detailed Documentation / Migration Plans / Progress Tracking (per-site)
- Stakeholder Communication Communicate Migration Status / Risks Clearly to Tech / Non-Tech Stakeholders
About the Project: The Senior Network Engineer will be a part of a large, client-facing data center migration initiative, transitioning from Cisco to Arista infrastructure. This is not a standard Network Ops role. This project requires DMVPN expertise, large-scale / multi-site migrations (dozens of healthcare clinic locations), data center / colo transition, Cisco / Arista crossover skills, and working within the healthcare industry.
- Ideal Senior Network Engineer ($100W2-$110W2+) Having previous experience leading similar enterprise or healthcare migrations with a deep understanding of DMVPN and routing / firewall change experience. The Senior Network Engineer will act as the technical lead with the Security / Architecture Teams and must possess strong client communication / documentation skills.
- Senior Network Engineer ($90W2-$110W2) Hands-on DMVPON migrations, proven Cisco to Arista transitions, coordinating multi-site cutovers, and leading migration windows / troubleshooting live issues.
- Senior Network Engineer ($75W2-$80W2) Strong Cisco background, DMVPN experience but not large-scale migrations, limited exposure to Arista, and minimal healthcare experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS - Senior Network Engineer Enterprise Network Engineering / Network Operations
- Cisco Routing / Switching (deep understanding) with Arista Platforms (strong understanding)
- DMVPN (proficiency) mGRE (single tunnel interface connecting to multiple spokes) / NHRP (mapping service) / IPsec (encryption) / Routing Protocols (EIGRP / OSPF / BGP)
PERFERRED (not required) - Healthcare / Distributed Enterprise Environments
- Data Center / Colo Transitions
- Certifications: CCNP / Arista ACE, etc.
