*HYBRID* Network Engineer Sr

Direct Hire 1099 or W2 only. 

The client is not offering subcontracting for this position.

Irving, Texas or Enon, Ohio - can be hybrid 3 days in office and 2 days remote

Possible weekend or evening hours for testing.

We are seeking a Network Engineer who is comfortable working in a challenging and diverse environment to assist with the installation, configuration and management of our network infrastructure. You will also provide direct support to internal team members and external clients via phone, email, chat or in person. Candidates should be self-motivated and have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. They must be a strong team player able to collaborate with others. A CCNP or higher certification is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer issues within the [Company] network

1. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for [the Company's] network infrastructure
2. Resolve incidents directly with end users and record detailed actions in ticketing tool
3. Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to ensure the network stays operational
4. Escalate issues to next level of support if unable to resolve in a timely manner

• Install and implement network hardware components and cables in data centers and corporate offices
• Perform approved network changes according to procedures with minimal business disruption
• Understand and perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs and patches
• Develop and maintain accurate network support documentation in a knowledge repository
• Perform network performance monitoring, trending and capacity planning for the LAN, WLAN, MAN and WAN
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work nights or weekends, as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation

Education and Experience:

• University degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
• 3+ years’ experience managing enterprise networks (Cisco, f5, Juniper) is preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of common network protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, STP, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
• Certifications are highly recommended – (i.e., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, etc.)
