Overview:
We are seeking an experienced part-time Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This role involves ensuring the safety and health of workers on construction and/or General Industry sites through various proactive measures and compliance with OSHA regulations.

SSCI is an injury prevention firm based in East Granby, CT with operations in the Western Massachusetts, Boston, and Connecticut. We are a small, dynamic business with a dedicated team of under 15 employees, committed to providing exceptional products/services to our clients.

Pay Range: $38-$48/hr. (Depending on experience, certifications / qualifications)

Responsibilities:

• Jobsite audits and periodic reviews
• Coaching of workers on-site
• Performing safety education
• Assisting clients with documentation or safety plans
• Performing safety talks as needed
• Assisting with job hazard analysis or pre-task plans or reviewing such plans
• Reviewing incidents and accidents and performing investigations under the direction of senior level staff
• Provide and perform daily reports to the client
• Interpreting and application of OSHA requirements
• Performing statistical review and analysis
• This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Additional duties and tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the company.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry required
• OSHA 30-hr Construction, CPR/AED/First Aid required
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good technical skills, especially with email and apps for reporting
• This position will require travel throughout Western, MA and CT.
• Must be able to pass background check

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to climb ladders periodically and/or climb stairs to elevated areas
• Ability to stand / walk around for up to 10 hours
