The Operating Room Nurse Educator leads perioperative staff development and clinical excellence by designing and delivering orientation, annual competencies, in‑services, skills labs, and simulation for circulating and scrub nurses across surgical specialties. Daily responsibilities include assessing learning needs; precepting and coaching at the bedside; reinforcing AORN standards, sterile technique, and infection prevention; collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, PACU, and sterile processing; onboarding new hires and travelers; coordinating CNOR/CPSN prep and continuing education; developing evidence‑based policies and clinical pathways; auditing documentation and time outs; supporting new technology, implants, and equipment training; tracking quality metrics (SSI, first‑case on‑time starts, turnovers); participating in root cause analyses and regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, CMS); maintaining education records and schedules; and serving as a clinical resource for instrumentation, positioning, and safety. This role elevates surgical services performance, patient outcomes, and compliance while optimizing workflows, EMR utilization, and team engagement in a fast‑paced OR environment.
