We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a 19-bed unit in Fort Myers, FL. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to handle high-acuity patients , and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care during all phases of labor, delivery, and recovery.
Monitor, assess, and document maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring.
Manage complex, high-acuity cases while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Administer medications, including epidurals and oxytocin, as ordered.
Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures (e.g., C-sections).
Educate and support mothers and families throughout the birthing process.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Float to other units or sister campuses as needed.
Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (required).
2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (required).
Prior travel nursing experience (required).
Certifications:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (required)
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or EFM certification (preferred)
Degree accreditation required – if not available, must have minimum 5 years of experience .
Must be able to work in a high-acuity L&D environment with 1:1 or 1:2 ratios.
EMR: Epic
Scrub Colors: Galaxy Blue and/or White
Call Requirement: 12 hours per 6-week schedule period.
Floating: Required – travelers float first to similar units or sister campuses.
Culture: Team-oriented environment; travelers are treated as core staff.
All RTO or schedule requests must be declared at submission.
