Job Description

Minimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required.
This full-time, onsite position will focus on conducting assessments, providing counseling, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities

  • Student Assessments:
    • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional development.
    • Interpret assessment results to inform educational planning and interventions.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and support services.
  • Counseling Services:
    • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve students' mental health and overall well-being.
    • Assist students in developing problem-solving and coping skills.
  • Collaboration and Consultation:
    • Work closely with educators, parents, and other school personnel to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
    • Serve as a resource for staff on student mental health issues and provide guidance on best practices.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Crisis Intervention:
    • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, including during emergencies or after significant events.
    • Develop crisis response plans and provide training to staff and students on coping mechanisms and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • State certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Proven experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing counseling in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, learning disorders, and behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive education practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Familiarity with current educational laws and regulations related to special education and mental health services.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, onsite position for the 2024-2025 school year.
