Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our PRIME contract in San Antonio, Texas. This position supports the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, managing infrastructure and related processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and resolving issues across client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and more
- Providing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for problem diagnosis and resolution
- Managing system escalations
- Providing status updates to agency management
- Ensuring timely communication with internal customers
- Configuring and maintaining UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
- Improving system performance and ensuring overall network integrity
Responsibilities:
- Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Assist users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem diagnosis and resolution
- Perform account management (establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts)
- Ensure compliance with applicable system security controls through configuration management, implementation, and sustainment
- Perform periodic vulnerability scans of systems
- Support IT systems including daily operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices
- Implement IAVA security patches and ensure patch status is recorded in appropriate systems of record
- Support system escalations and communicate status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Provide in-depth troubleshooting experience for IT systems
- Deliver detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets
- Support hardware dispatch and issue resolution
- Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
- Install and troubleshoot operating system software
- Ensure network integrity and implement OS enhancements for reliability and performance
- Communicate and coordinate with ISSO and ISO regarding system changes as part of the Change and Configuration Management Process
- Support the ISO in completing required milestones of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)
- Ensure IT assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy
- Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Apply knowledge of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (remote GPU and memory scaling)
- Support system design and mission architecture
- Analyze and resolve complex server hardware and software integration issues
- Provide Tier 3 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification and Computing Environment (CE) Certification
- CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications
- Six (6) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM)
- ITIL 4 platform certification
- If assigned to Directory Services TTOs:
- Experience with Active Directory, Identity Management, SCCM, DNS, Group Policy, Active Role Servers, PAM Services, and MS Exchange
- If assigned to Desktop & Enclave Services TTOs:
- Understanding of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (remote GPU and memory scaling)
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
