Position Description:The QA Tester will test the new Web software applications to meet the project objectives and support new or expanding business objectives.

This will include requirements review/analysis, creation of test cases, execution of test cases, and creation of defects for new or updated software applications.

The candidate must have technical proficiency in testing Software Applications and proficiency in Jira Test Tools and the open-text Performance testing tool Load Runner. Candidates should be able to participate in the entire development lifecycle from design through deployment. The ability to perform requirements reviews, write test cases, execute test cases, and create defects is essential. Communicate with the Project Team about defects/issues identified during testing.

The QA Tester will work in a team environment to perform software application testing to verify and validate that the application requirements are covered and to improve our internal and client-facing software application environment.

The QA Tester will work in a supportive and fast-paced team with the software development team, and there will be opportunities to increase your professional knowledge.

The Candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Performing Software Application Testing of customized solutions on the platform to support critical business functions and meet the project objectives, client user requirements, and Agency goals.
• Communicate with project management, clients, and other developers to ensure effective collaboration throughout the testing phase.
• Maintaining a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing project requirements and customer objectives and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully.
• Direct interaction with clients, managers, and end users as necessary to analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications, and interactions with internal teams.
• Collaboration with various internal departments, including development and operations, ensures that the software application environment supports internal needs related to functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expertise in Test Planning, Test Estimation, Test Strategy, Workload Design, Test Case design, Test Environment Setup, Test Data Setup, Defect Management, and Configuration Management.
• Expertise in Performance Testing tools using Open Text Load Runner.
• Execute Benchmark, load, stress, endurance, and other non-functional tests.
• Monitor application logs to find system behavior. Address all technical issues.
• Facilitate the resolution and necessarily follow up with Development and other cross-functional departments.
• Analyze the CPU Utilization, Memory usage, Network usage, and DB.
• Parameters and DB Reports to verify the performance of the applications.
• Generate performance graphs, session reports, and other related documentation required for validation and analysis.
• Publish results and receive appropriate sign-off. Prepare detailed status reports and monitor all defects and issues.
• Identify memory leakage, connection issues, and bottleneck problems in the application.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent time management skills.
• Maintaining a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing project requirements and customer objectives and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully.
• Direct interaction with clients, managers, and end users as necessary to analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications, and interaction with the team.
• Carry out test cases and testing scripts to identify defects.
• Present test results to customers, developers, and others.
• Support root cause analysis on defects found to identify and mitigate project risks and provide feedback to developers.
• Support completion of comprehensive testing against the software, ensuring all features function as designed and intended, running manual and automated tests to assess performance, compatibility, and user interface.
• Support testers, developers, and business teams in identifying testing approaches and infrastructure.
• Rapidly test designs with users using both passive and active methods.

• Experience using OpenText Testing Tools Suite (LoadRunner/Performance Center and SiteScope) for Load/performance testing | Required | 5

  Code test scripts to support web service testing | Required | 5

  Analyze code for requirements verification and validation of test results | Required | 5

  Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate actionable results for test analysis, issues identified and proposed resolutions | Required | 5

  Collaborate with the team in order to receive feedback on work direction | Required | 5

  6-10 yrs. conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty | Required | 6

  6-10 yrs. preparing complex technical documentation | Required | 6

  Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience | Required

Position Details: 

• Pay Rate / Range:$35-$42.50

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
