Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced tooling solutions specifically for large-scale metal missile canister manufacturing.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and design engineering, to optimize production processes.
  • Establish and implement comprehensive tooling standards, guidelines, and best practices for large-scale metal fabrication.
  • Conduct meticulous feasibility studies, assessments, and risk analyses to ensure high-quality tooling output.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing cycle times, and extending tool longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling-related issues to ensure the maintenance of smooth production flow.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tooling engineering, preferably within the large-scale metal manufacturing sector for the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in tooling design and fabrication for metal structures, particularly within missile or canister manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA analysis tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of metalworking processes, including welding, machining, forming, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills:

  • Specialized experience in missile canister tooling and assembly.
  • Expertise in high-tolerance manufacturing practices and large-scale quality assurance protocols.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or other government clients.
