Job Description



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Chicago, United States. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to provide medical oversight, direction, and leadership to our medical staff, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

  • Assist the Chief Medical Officer in providing strategic oversight and administration of medical services for on-site health units
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare laws and regulations in all service delivery functions
  • Provide direct supervision of medical staff and oversee patient care
  • Collaborate with the administrative lead to determine staffing needs, including rapid surge and de-scoping of staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare facilities, agencies, and specialists to ensure access to quality care in the community
  • Assist in the development of medical support documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and policies for care services
  • Lead quality development and clinical governance initiatives, including maintaining the Code of Conduct for medical practice, medical record keeping, and infection control standards
  • Support the Chief Medical Officer in representing the organization in the local community and building relationships with healthcare providers
  • Oversee data acquisition and input for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports regarding medical activities
  • Provide medical guidance for medically fragile patients and report their status to relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in strategic planning for intake, initial medical exams, focused exams, and ongoing care requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a healthcare leadership role
  • Clinical experience within the past 5 years, preferably in a remote site
  • Current and unrestricted license within scope of practice
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
  • Graduated from an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current DEA certification
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make decisive and goal-oriented decisions
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
  • Detail-oriented approach to patient care and administrative tasks
  • Collaborative and supportive team player with a customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred

Qualifications

:
  • Experience in immigration or refugee programs
  • Experience as a government subcontractor or prime contractor
  • Experience collaborating with state and local medical facilities
  • Experience working with Federal entities (e.g., Health and Human Services/ORR)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 35 lbs

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen or possess a permanent resident card
  • Current MRPT Clearance preferred

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation| Min: 150K Max: 350K
