Job Description

The CFO is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. With a focus on innovation, growth, and operational excellence, this leader works closely with the CEO to drive financial strategy across all entities within the organization, optimize profitability, ensure compliance, and position the company for sustained growth. A key aspect of the role is to evaluate and advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities, as well as the integration of new companies into the organization. The CFO role requires a forward-thinking leader with deep expertise in corporate finance, business strategy, and risk management.

Specific responsibilities of the CFO position include:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organizations growth objectives, including organic growth and acquisitions.
  • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape long-term financial plans aligned with the organizations vision.
  • Lead budgeting and financial planning across multiple companies, ensuring accountability and fiscal discipline.

Operational Oversight and Financial Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations and financial management, including accounting, treasury, tax, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting, across all entities.
  • Implement and maintain efficient financial systems, policies, and controls.
  • Drive cost management initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and refine financial policies, controls, and systems to drive efficiency and accountability

Acquisition and Investment Assessment:

  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate potential acquisitions, mergers, and investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify and pursue strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Lead due diligence processes, including risk assessment, financial modeling, and valuation analysis.

Technology and Process Optimization:

  • Leverage innovative financial technologies to streamline processes and workflows.
  • Implement tools and systems to enhance reporting accuracy, transparency, and speed.

Strategic Partnership:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and regulators as applicable.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA degree a plus.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive level.
  • Previous experience managing financial operations for multi-entity organizations preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations for companies with a focus on growth through acquisitions.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, M&A due diligence, deal execution, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate governance.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on delivering measurable impact.
  • Adaptable and innovative, with a proactive approach to solving complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to enhance financial processes and workflows.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to fostering strong partnerships.
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing finance and accounting teams.

  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with internal team at all levels and external vendors such as CPA firm, bank, etc.
  • Experience in media, marketing, or content-driven industries is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in an organization with multiple corporate entities with unique financials.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to pivot, often without notice, to address critical issues as they arise while still delivering on-time, on-budget departmental goals.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to set objectives, delegate tasks, and evaluate performance.
  • Sound judgment with a high level of integrity to execute decisions with significant corporate/financial impact.
  • Analytical; with the ability to receive and interpret information, analyze multiple variables with the ability to see the big picture while managing details and make effective decisions under pressure.
