Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader for the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) role. This position will play a crucial part in overseeing operations, financial management, and human resources within our organization. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the senior leadership team, the CAO will advance our mission while promoting effective operations, fostering a positive organizational culture, and empowering teams to achieve their goals. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Leadership
Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to drive strategic planning, ensuring alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
Lead operational excellence initiatives by establishing clear objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics for success.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across all operational functions, providing guidance to managers and nurturing an inclusive workplace.
Administration
Provide strategic support to the Senior Director of Administration, who oversees IT, compliance, benefits management, and facilities.
Direct and oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency.
Collaborate with external IT vendors to stay current on emerging technologies and trends for continuous improvement.
Assist in managing benefits and the organization's facilities, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Support oversight of all necessary insurance coverages for the organization.
Finance
Oversee financial management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with external finance vendors to prepare and present financial reports, including budget analysis and cash flow projections, to the CEO, Board of Directors, and relevant committees.
Monitor financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Work with program managers to develop budgets, monitor spending, and ensure alignment with financial goals.
Oversee the annual audit and tax filing processes.
Human Resources
Lead the human resources function and external vendors in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while championing a workplace culture that prioritizes emotional well-being and supports DEI values.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the nonprofit sector, with a strong background in operations, finance, or human resources.
Solid financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic financial planning.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and optimize resources.
Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders.
Commitment to advancing DEI initiatives and fostering an inclusive work environment.
Knowledge of mental health, suicide prevention, or related fields is advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
Minimum starting salary: $150,000/year, commensurate with experience and skill set.
