Physics Teacher | Teacher of Physics | Teach Abroad

I am looking for a female teacher of physics to teach away in the United Arab Emirates for the next academic year. The ideal candidate needs to be a teacher that can engage her students and promote and enquiry based learning model in the classroom.

The school is established in 2002 to serve a mainly Emirati population of students. About 30% are expatriates. The school offers the USA Common Core and the IB Curriculum.  Working days are from Sunday to Thursday with school starting at 7.30am and ends at 3pm most days except Tuesday where there is IB CPD training given at 2 pm.

Teachers come from various international countries such as USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. There are also many teachers from neighbouring Middle East countries.

Salary Package

1. Salary range, dependent upon years of experience and qualification: AED 12,100 to 15,675 per month

IMPORTANT : Flights medical and visa and only for the teacher. The teacher must pay to bring family members in. The school does not cover the cost for family members

The schools are located in various Emirates including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.  The school supports teachers in settling into the country and carry out an induction programme for teachers to focus on good teaching and learning.  

Requirements to Apply

1. Degree in Physics/Science or Physics elated e.g. Engineering
2. A valid state teaching license in Science
3. At least 3 years teaching experience
4. Western Trained
5. A high command of written and spoken English
6. A clean police check
7. Two valid up to date references from Line Managers/Principals which are confidential
8. Knowledgeable of effective teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, standards based instruction, and strong content knowledgePossess excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, problem-solving, decision making and relationship building skills
9. Understand and can use Standards Based teaching and assessment practices in the classroom
10. Is student centred in their delivery of instruction in the classroom,
11. Understands the use of assessment data to design instruction that is differentiated based upon the individual and group instructional needs of students
12. Uses technology to advance learning, manage information and deliver instruction effectively with students
13. Is culturally competent and aware of the Cultural norms of the UAE

As a teacher of Physics, you will be expected to create highly engaging lessons that promote independent learning. The students love practical lessons in science that have relevance to what they understand in the UAE. You will be required to prepare your own lab work/resources, differentiate, carry out the formative assessment, attend lunchtime duty, attend staff briefing and Science Department meetings. You will also be required to maintain excellent student records and ensure your marking and lesson plans are up to date. Attending parents will also be required to provide students with feedback about their progression in Physics.  All teacher are expected to enhance their career by attending CPD workshops and also attending CPD workshops away.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Additional:

**Experience of the IB Curriculum is beneficial but not essential as training will be given
**Experience of USA Curriculum such as American Harcourt, AP and Common Core is highly valued
**It will be beneficial to your application if you have experience of working in the Middle East or with non-native speakers of English

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 12375 up to 15,675  AED (UAE Dirham)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

500AED per month
