Holtec Palisades is currently seeking a Nuclear Core Design Engineer to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY
The Nuclear Core Design Engineer will play a crucial role in developing the Palisades reactor core design. This position requires a deep understanding of nuclear reactor design, as well as expertise in core modeling software and neutronics.
Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, and quality assurance standards.
Conduct core design and analysis for Palisades Nuclear Reactor.
Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with other team members on engineering/technical issues.
Support regular interface and communications with fuel vendor.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the successful integration of core design into overall reactor systems.
Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving skills, and process skills.
Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs.
Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in nuclear safety.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position:
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level.) Desired: Nuclear Engineering B.S. and/or M.S.
Minimum experience required of the position:
Nuclear Power Plant Core Design specific experience preferred. Nuclear Power Plant Core Design Qualified highly preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
Good to excellent communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level. Experience in CASMO/SIMULATE desired. Experience in GARDEL Core Monitoring software desired.
