Your Role

As a Project Layout Technician – Survey, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality construction projects. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals, leverage cutting-edge GPS and surveying technology, and ensure projects are executed safely and accurately, every time.

  • Champion a safe work environment by consistently following all safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Operate, adjust, and maintain advanced GPS equipment, rovers, and related instruments for precise level setting and grade adjustments.
  • Calculate and document cross sections of completed work for project assessment and payment review.
  • Interpret and implement construction plans to support project preparation and execution.
  • Assist with traffic control set-up, including moving and dismantling signs, barricades, and cones.
  • Support field activities such as driving stakes, clearing brush, and handling materials and tools.
  • Contribute flexibly as a team player, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (drug screen, background check, Fit for Work physical).
  • Minimum age of 18, with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred).
  • Previous experience in construction or surveying is a plus but not required—enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential!

 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

· Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.

· Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.

· Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.

· Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.

· Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.

· Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.

· Reasonable accommodations provided as necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
