Our Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. Job Summary

The role of Accounting Analyst (Accounts Payable Specialist) is vital in managing cash flow by ensuring that our vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and in a timely manner. This role will be responsible for processing, tracking, and recording payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner, which will have a daily impact on financial transactions. This will help us maintain good relationships with our valued partners and keep us on track and on time with our payments. The Accounting Analyst (Accounts Payable Specialist) will also work towards improving the accounts payable process while ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Processing all invoices, stamping them with date received, ensure material or services has been received or performed, accurately entering the invoice into the ERP system, ensure dollars and quantities match.
  • Research vendor and supplier inquiries.
  • Reconciling account balances to supplier statements.
  • Prepare and submit weekly payment runs to settle the supplier invoices. within the agreed payment terms to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services to supervisor for approval.
  • Responsible for select journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closing tasks.
  • The incumbent will help maintain financial historical records by filing and securing all accounting documents.
  • Coordinates incoming and outgoing mail and other office duties as needed.
  • The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Typical internal customers include the accounting work group, supply chain work group, and immediate supervisor.
  • Must adhere to all internal control policies to help mitigate financial risk to the business.

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: This position typically requires a general knowledge of various finance and business subjects, familiarity with an office environment and general clerical experience. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, 2 years of job-related experience. It is desired that the candidate will have some college level accounting courses.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Oral Communications: Knowledge of oral communications issues; ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally and appropriately. It is important for the candidate to have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
